Tired of CPAP!
Midwest
Dental Sleep Centers
Our
centers are Illinois' first stand alone dental sleep clinics. We dedicate our
practices solely to the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea. As a
result, we strictly follow the practice parameters set forth by the American
Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Academy of Sleep
Medicine. The following is a list of patient related services that we
provide :
Complex Consultations
Your first visit to Midwest Dental Sleep Center establishes a vital foundation
for our relationship with you and your treatment. During your initial
consultation we will obtain important background information, such as medical
history, and talk with you about how your life is effected by sleep apnea and
snoring. We then give you time to get to know your sleep dentist and to learn
more about our program. The consultation includes a thorough dental examination
in order to determine whether you're a proper candidate for oral appliance
therapy.
Oral Appliance Therapy
Upon your second visit, custom
impressions of your upper and lower teeth are taken. These impressions
are used to fabricate the custom oral appliance. The length of the appointment
is about 30 minutes. After the impressions are taken, a delivery
appointment is then scheduled for two weeks from the impression appointment.
Delivery
Your third visit with us is called a “Delivery” appointment – wherein we
check for proper fit of the appliance. One of the most important visits with
us; we instruct you on how to wear, titrate, clean and use your custom oral
appliance. Until you feel confident, we work with you on how to properly
utilize your appliance and to ensure you understand everything you need to
know!
Follow Up Appointments
Follow up appointments are designed to evaluate the effectiveness and
progress of your treatment.
